BIO:

As the son of a carpenter and the grandson of an auto-body mechanic, the urge to create, build, tweak, and make better is instilled in my blood.  It is from this hands-on DIY upbringing that I naturally fell in love with photography, when I first picked up a camera at the age of 13. Since 2007 I have have the privilege to cut out a living as a freelance Director of Photography.

My early start in this industry was within the documentary world, learning every aspect of produciton and how to read natural light increibily well. However, with the expansion of media and the push into branded projects, my work followed suite and now I primarily work with ad agencies and brands. A few highlights include working with Ogvily, KBS+, Draft FCB, GREY.  I  also work with editorial clients, such as The New York Times and The New Yorker.  Between my early doc work and my agency work, I I have shot projects in 25+ countries.

While working as a DP the urge to create my own personal-work never ceased. I have continued to shoot my own projects, developing my voice and style along the way. My personal work has led to directing opportunities for brands such as Anheuser Busch Sweetgreen, Red Wing Heritage and editorial clients such as The New Yorker and The New York Times. Thanks to multiple Vimeo Staff picks, my directing work has received millions of views. My career now is split between DP and Director/DP opportunities.

To this day, my toolbox is still filled with my grandfather’s vintage Snap On wrenches he left me when he passed. More important than the tools, he and my father have passed down the value of hard work and importance of dedication. It is with this work ethic and perseverance I approach every project I have the privilege to work on.
