DALLAS, TEXAS!

texas

I spent the last week in Dallas, Texas shooting a series of short documentary profiles for the organization Great Comebacks. I was working with Scott Whitham (director), Maureen McKenna (producer) and a great local crew from Dallas.

Great Comebacks was started by Rolf Benirschke, place-kicker for the San Diego Chargers in the late 70s and early 80s. After being diagnosed with IBD Rolf needed emergency ostomy surgery. After a year long recovery, Rolf returned to the NFL and continued to play for another seven seasons. Great Comebacks tells just that, great personal, professional and physical comebacks!

We shot the series on the Panasonic HPX170 and Letus combo. In addition, we used the Canon 5d mkII as “B” camera. I also had a full gaff truck, gaffer, key grip and PA at my disposal, which is always a nice treat! I think the final edit is going to look great!

READY, WILLING & ABLE

Wow November! When did that happen? Well recently I shot a PSA commercial for the Non-Profit RWA (Ready, Willing & Able). The spot was produced through Studio Ten and was shot on the Panasonic HPX3000. It was a pretty simple shoot, we just spent the day with one of the crews and had a lot of fun.

I also shot a project for Studio Ten & PECO (Philadelphia’s Energy Company). The highlights included filming from a cherry picker 70 feet up into the trees and also having to have my camera lowered to me down a manhole! We also shot in the central command center for all of Philadelphia’s power. I definitely learned a lot about energy on that shoot!

I also just added a photo gallery of the China “Gold” Farms. Although all the photos are already on my blog, the photo gallery gives a little more insight. Check it out.
