ABOUT!
My name is Andrew David Watson and I'm a freelance filmmaker based out of Philadelphia, PA. I make my living as a shooter (cinematographer, DP, videographer or whatever else you wanna call it) and field producer for primarily documentaries.
I also love taking on creative projects from time to time.
Unlike many people involved in filmmaking,
I do not watch many narrative movies or even that much TV (except for PBS's Frontline). In fact, you might be surprised by
the amount of movies that I have not seen. Most people find this odd, but the fact is I draw most of my inspiration from
life experiences, photography, and media design. My inspiration comes from classic photographers such as Robert Frank,
Bruce Davidson, Henri Cartier Bresson, and Robert Capa. My contemporary influences include such design firms as
Collider,
180 Amsterdam, and Bubble-Squeak.
However, my favorite influence above all is traveling and meeting interesting people.
I'm available for work and welcome the opportunity to travel. In the last year alone I've shot in 11
different states and also had a quick trip to Treviso, Italy jammed in there.
I'm expereinced in SD, HD and super16mm but I'm also open to working as a field producer. Wanna work together, or just grab a cup of coffee?
